This year we have 4 preschool classrooms. Last year we had 5. Students come
with teachers for Storytime.
I tie the read aloud to their weekly theme.
Often we'll do a related fingerplay or song.
Sometimes we do an online activity on the Smartboard tied to the theme. For
example, I'll use Topmarks
<https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=counting> for counting or numbers
themes.
I have used our Beebots with them.
Sometimes we use props to retell a story.
Students borrow a book related to the theme if I have enough (or I just put
a good read aloud to select).

Mostly, like others have said, it is about how to listen and interact with
a story, take turns, take care of books, and learn about what types of
books we like.
