[CASL-L] NEASC Wants You!

I've served on three committees to date, and highly recommend the experience! It's probably the most work you will ever do in four days, but you get insight into another school that makes you think in a different way about what you do in your own. And thanks to NEASC I experienced far, far, far northern Maine for a district they were having trouble finding a committee for.

 Just to
second what Matt said, I served on a NEASC visiting
committee last month and it was an excellent experience.
It's totally exhausting, but it's the best PD
you'll have, spending four days with a committee of
dedicated educators and immersing yourself into another
school. The Library Media Center and its resources, staffing
and role in the school are a key part of the report, so
it's great to have a school librarian on the
 committee.

 The Committee on Public Secondary
Schools at New England Association of Schools and Colleges
is seeking library media specialists from our member schools
 to serve on visiting teams.
The dates of theses visits are:  March 5-8, March 26-29,
and April 2-5. If you are interested or would like more
information, please contact Melissa Spinosa, Team
 Coordinator, at
 mspinosa at neasc.org.

 I’ve served on two visiting
committees as LMS.  They are great for understanding NEASC
and for getting a building wide perspective on your LMS
program.  They are a lot of work, but
you also learn a great deal.  If anyone has any questions,
 I’m happy to help.
