Hi Tanya,

Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes is very similar to The Hate You Give,
but "less mature". Has main male protagonist w/ secondary female
one...Listed for grades 5-8, with lower reading level that may be good if
any of those students are struggling readers. I really liked this book.
