[MCOH-EH] MCOH-EH Employee Health Organizational Structure

I am paid by (and technically report to) the physician management group for the hospital, but our department reports to HR, so I have a strong dotted line there.  I also report in some way to our hospital VP of medical affairs.  The reality, however, is I operate independently and don't recall anyone writing my reviews in years, so where I actually report is not important.  Our department budget (other than physician salaries) is paid through the HR dept, and that's where I go for resources.

I have dual reporting. 

The Occupational Medicine Service is a clinical service in the medical school's Department of Medicine and as such, I primarily report to the Chairman of Medicine. 

However, 2 1/2 years ago, our school was absorbed by Rutgers University and so I now also report to the University Director of Occupational Health, who reports to Risk Management and Insurance.

It is not unusual in industrial settings for occupational health to report up through Risk or Human Resources. I have the idea occupational health (Employee Health) in healthcare frequently reports to Human Resources. Does anyone report through a clinical or nursing department?
